Colt Starting - Often called “Breaking” or “Green
Breaking”. These are names given to the process of
getting a young horse to accept saddle, bridle and rider,
without fear or resentment.
Saddle Training - Riding time, Some arena work but
mostly on trails, to further develop the basic skills and
cues needed for Western Riding.
Problem Solving - De-spooking, Head-shy, Mounting and
Dismounting Problems, Won’t Stand Still, Won’t Stand
for Furrier, and General De-Bugging.
Riding Lessons -
Lessons designed primarily to introduce people
of all ages to horses and riding. These lessons
focus primarily on controlling and riding a
trained horse, and developing a good seat for
Western Riding.
Horsemanship Classes -
More intensive training than the riding lessons,
with a broader emphasis on horse care and
management as well as riding and rudimentary
training.
Training Clinics -
For 4-H groups and FFA, and other youth oriented horse programs, offering introductions and hands on
experience on a variety of “Horsemanship” requisites, such as: The Use of the Round Pen, Halter Training,
Lunging, Colt Starting and General Horse Management.
Horse Boarding -
Full care boarding including feed, hay, and daily
turnout and access to riding trails.
Trail Rides -
Trail riding by appointment only, for individuals,
families and small groups.
